I saw a couple of comments trickle in over the last few months. This blog has moved to . Recently archived radio programs, including guest mixes and event news is available over at that domain.

Many months have passed since the inception of this mix project, so we’re very happy to finally share!! Peace to 1 year of broadcasting A Downtown Affair over the Tri-State and across the world.

Mike McGill and Tackleberry present Hope For Love, a selection of records touching upon anecdotes of courtship and infidelity while keeping in mind those lonely nights of mid-tempo dancing and fast romancing. A digest of music resolved to stimulate bodies, helping them move like fluids across desolate dance-floors from decades past.

Let the sleazy serenades play while hearts and drums break; all for love’s sake.

Hope for Love.

It’s on…

Come by to pick up a copy of the new mix Tackleberry (Alex B.) and myself just finished, sprayed, ‘n pressed. I will post a digital copy over the weekend.

Alex B. steps in, and provides an excellent selection of records from across the funk/disco spectrum, dropping a few boogie rap records along the way. You can view the playlist and listen to last week’s show here. Dig it? Come out to Serious Business; he’ll be playing records alongside myself, Joe Williams and Jamie Dubs. The Senate is sitting this session out.

On Friday, tune in for a special guest DJ set from Melodious Thunk. He’s runs Infinity Records a gem of a shop over on Long Island that keeps a great stock of dance 12″s. I’m excited to see what he brings for the program. 89.1FM/, Friday Aug. 1st 10:30pm-1:00am.

Continuing to build momentum over seven months now!

That’s right; we’re up and at it again. Come by Savalas this Thursday as we continue to play all those essential boogie, disco, & electro-funk records. Many freshly picked since the last gathering. Things kick off at 10pm and go ’til 4am. Arrive early as we ease things in with soul & funk before lifting off around midnight.

Check for recordings from previous nights.

Back at it!

Tomorrow night I’ll be joining the ABL crew at their monthly party Suspiria over in Boerum Hill. Things kick off at 10pm, I’ll be getting on at around midnight. Stop by Diety for some music and dancing!

After tonight’s episode, I’ll be joining ABL crew at Club Diety on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn for a 2am set. Tune in for tonight’s special guest!

The Serious Bu$iness crew is back at Savalas this Thursday! We’ve been on the attack for over half a year now, and still going on strong. This week we’re welcoming friend and DJ extraordinaire Joe Williams. Boogie, disco, electro-funk, rappin’ selected and mixed to provide rush hour traffic on the dance floor. RSVP on Facebook, and check out previous recordings at FFFFF.AT. See you there!

Too Manly Deejays out of the GBH camp have been kind enough to invite me to play records Sunday night over at Monkeytown in Williamsburg. This art/music space will be cleared out for a club night replete with visual projections, beaming strobe lights, and dance music programmed for grooving, jacking, two-stepping, or whatever you please. I’ll be warming things up around 11, and then stepping back on the decks later on. This is Monkeytown’s last night before closing for the entire summer to renovate their space!

Check out Too Manly Deejays on their weekly East Village Radio show.
